How RiffCatch handles your data

This Privacy Policy describes how Kenichi Ando ("Developer") handles information in connection with the iOS application RiffCatch ("Application"). By downloading or using RiffCatch, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

RiffCatch accesses or collects the following information:

  • Music and audio files you add to the app (used for playback and processing only)
  • App settings such as tempo/pitch preferences and playlist data
  • Advertising-related data in the free version (see "Third-Party Services" below)
  • Subscription status confirmation (processed through the App Store)

Important: All music files and settings are stored exclusively on your iPhone. No data is ever transmitted to external servers. Ad delivery is handled by Google AdMob — RiffCatch does not store or process any advertising data directly.

2. How We Use Your Information

Any information accessed is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Playback, tempo adjustment, pitch shifting, and EQ processing of audio files
  • Saving and managing playlists
  • Storing user preferences (seek intervals, playback mode, etc.)
  • Exporting processed audio as WAV or M4A
3. Third-Party Services

The free version of RiffCatch uses the following third-party services for advertising:

  • Google AdMob (Google LLC)
    Used to display banner ads in the footer and interstitial ads during audio export. AdMob may collect device identifiers and advertising IDs.

    May be used to analyze app usage and improve the user experience.

Subscribing to Premium ($0.99/month) disables all ads and stops any AdMob data collection. Premium also unlocks per-track settings saving and A-B loop clip export.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

All purchases and subscription management are handled entirely by the Apple App Store. The Developer does not collect, store, or have access to any payment or billing information.

  • Subscription price: $0.99 / month
  • Renewal: Auto-renews 24 hours before the end of each period
  • Cancellation: Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or manage directly at the link below.

5. Data Storage

All data is stored exclusively on your device. Key characteristics:

  • No internet connection is required for core app functionality
  • No iCloud sync (except for files you manually export)
  • Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data
6. Children's Privacy

RiffCatch does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
